ONE PLACE RECEIVES "EFFICIENCY FORWARD GRANT" FROM THE ALABAMA BUSINESS CHARITABLE TRUST FUND

MONTGOMERY – One Place Family Justice Center (One Place) today announced they are the recipients of a $10,000.00 Efficiency Forward Grant from The Alabama Business Charitable (ABC) Trust Fund. One Place will use these funds to update older florescent lighting to more efficient LEDs and to install programmable thermostats in their facility at 530 S. Lawrence Street in Montgomery.

Executive Director Kaye Harris says, “One Place currently spends over $20,000 per year on electricity. It is estimated these improvements will reduce that cost on average $6,800 per year, or 1/3 of the total cost. The money we save on our electric bill each month is money that will go directly to the achievement of our mission. We are delighted to partner with the ABC Trust Fund.”

Founded in 2009, as a one-stop shop for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child and elder abuse, One Place’s mission and purpose is to be a comprehensive service and support center which provides greater safety, access to services, and confidentiality for victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking and child and elder abuse.

The Alabama Business Charitable (ABC) Trust Fund was created by Alabama Power in 1992 to partner with agencies to help low-income families pay their energy bills and support programs that promote energy efficiency for non-profits and low-income individuals and families.
